The Full Drench
Before you even touch the bottle, soak your hair completely with lukewarm water. If your hair isn't fully saturated, the shampoo won't lather correctly, leading you to use way too much product. Avoid hot water, as it can strip your scalp of its natural oils.
Scalp-Focused Shampooing
Squeeze a coin-sized amount of shampoo into your palms and rub them together first. Apply it only to your scalp and roots. This is where the oil and buildup live. Use your fingertips (never your nails!) to massage in circular motions to stimulate blood flow.
